Since Friday at 10:00am'ish Scott, Aaron and I have been together at all times but to sleep - and even at that it's always been a late night and early morning..so an average of 5hrs without each other.. ha! No complaining.. it has been a blast to get to know these guys on a crash course level! Yesterday was church, then snacking while we made Brayden T-shirts (so fun) and then off to his game.. even more fun. I honestly just love watching kids play sports and it doesn't hurt that it's with great friends and an amazing family. After the game it was time for a DQ treat with the Riley's :) This family is just too much. (I cheated.. but in my eyes it was a holiday..:) [sorry heather!]. We got home and went over to the boys house until it was time for CCF.. haha.. this entire weekend has been let's do this ________ and then we end up doing this _________. I love it! We were gunna float the river (no joke) but we ended up at CCF. We went to CCF just for worship and then the night began! We came back to my house and "plotted". It ended with us jumping the fence and enjoying a conveniently bubbling hot tub. The three of us sat in the tub for hours, it was our "testimony tub". It was so great to hear these boys open up and the three of us just pour into each other. We wanted to stay longer but the tub hours were closed and since we weren't suppose to be in there we opted for a new adventure.
We took a bottle of wine and some Hideaway Bakery bread (holy moses good) and went up to Hendricks Park. We sat and just stared at the city light and had a re-cap to our tub convos. We sat there silent for so long, silent but in the company of gripped hearts. We all were in awe of how the night had unfolded, how God has kept us so close for the past few days to soften our hearts and to come to that point of vulnerability and comfort - it was amazing.
I was so at peace, rested, and calm. The lights were in perfect contrast to the black sky. It was as if you could see the distractions of your life at a distance but in that moment we were removed from it all. Simply in the company of God and in fellowship together.
