Rewind to Lori and Al
Last weekend Will and I headed to Portland to meet the family and celebrate his grandparents 50th anniversary. It was such a blast and blessing to be able to meet his fam fam and be showered with love. Everything from the trip there - - picking up his sis, his bro. Seeing his papa - - busting tunes all the way to Portland, it was great. We got to his Mama's house - settled in and got ready to meet the rest of the family. Hors d'oeuvres were beyond great - brie, brochette, cheese, cheese and more cheese! It was a crazy explosion of family all at once but I dug it. After a few drinks and some good snacks it was off to dinner. We went to Caldera - super good food and everyone just made it such a fun time. Beanie (Will's aunt) and I had a great time at dinner. Ginger ale on the plane? We were meant to be friends! Oh the times at dinner, such fun. Then it was back to the house for some more quality time. Each one of the family members had put together a toast for Lori and Al's 50th anniversary. It was amazing to hear all of the lovely words from everyone. There were songs, poems, slide shows, and just simply amazing words of love and acknowledgment of their wonderful 50 years together. Everyone was so creative and honest with their toasts -- it was amazing to be able to be apart of that day with the family. After the great slide show Molly (Will's mom) put together we all just hung out and the said our goodbyes. Hugging his Grandma goodbye - - oh I want to adopt that lady. She is so amazing and graceful and I just want to hang out with her :) The next morning it was time for church with Joel and Ashley and then back home. There was of course a little Stumptown Coffee Roasters thrown in there, a fun lunch with Joel and Ash and little more family time before we hit the road. All in all a great time getting to know his family and him that much more.
