Date Night (cooking masters)

Yay for another Wednesday night date night. Will and I decided that we wanted to do something a little more low key and maybe even stay in for the night. We both really enjoy cooking and loved the idea of making something both of us have never tried. Throughout the day our job was to bring some ideas to each other about what to make. We ended up with deciding we wanted to make grilled portobello mushrooms, roasted veggies, with french bread / olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We jumped over to Market of Choice to shop for our needed ingredients. I love grocery shopping and it was fun to have Will there with me. He was so impressed with himself about asking the grocery man for help in finding a certain kind of onion. It was adorable. The mushrooms were so good. It was Will's job to marinate and grill them - he done good! They had minced garlic, onion, oil & vinegar - seared for 10 min and yumm yumm yumm. The roasted veggies were spurred in inspiration of a new veggie I had never heard of - celeriac. It is the root of celery. Who knew?! It was super good. I added some carrots, broccoli, cipolline onions (another new one), garlic, sweet potato, and lemon - with oil, salt and pepper. Oh yumm! Then of course a nice supplemented french bread with oil and vinegar. We danced to some of our favorite songs as we cooked our "parts" of the meal. We played some Egyptian Rat Screw while dinner cooked and just enjoyed each others company. It was a great candle lit dinner with again our favorite play list in the background. After dinner we headed over to my house to get the dessert we forgot in the fridge. We had some pretty tasty chocolate mouse, irish cream, cappuccino infused dessert bars. They were mighty tasty! All in all a great date night with a promise of just more to come.Pre dinner yo-yo action! So freaking full..... .. ya it's date night.. what of it..
